About Us

About Us

We keep our clients informed about regulatory and legislative developments, as well as industry trends, using a variety of communications, depending on the critical nature of the change.

Our aim is to be concise and accurate and to cut through the extensive press and media coverage that is often churned out on such issues:

  • we frequently send our clients newsletters highlighting topical issues
  • our Account Managers maintain regular contact with our clients to enable specific guidance to be given
  • we issue special technical briefings where significant legislative or technical changes are considered with independent commentary on the implications
  • we run seminars examining key market issues and trends.

Companies who appoint Sovereign do so for the personal and dedicated service that they and the members of their pension and employee benefit schemes receive. Our philosophy centres on the belief that the members are our ultimate clients and what we do needs to be understood by them. The information provided (whether by telephone or written) is kept simple but effective which allows the members to make informed decisions.
Our mission statement

"To be recognised within the Small to Medium Employer market as a leading service provider of choice for pensions and employee benefits."

Our target market are those organisations who generally do not have a dedicated pensions or benefits manager, but rather an individual(s) whose main job is not pensions. We seek SMEs as our potential clients as that market especially appears to be receiving a diminishing level of personal service from the larger consultancy firms.

Our service proposition is designed to take from our clients as much as possible of the day to day running of the schemes, never forgetting that we are fully accountable for everything we do in the company and member's name.

We have been providing group benefit related services for schemes since 1984 in a variety of guises. In 1995 we commenced to offer administration services on a self administered basis encompassing accounting and actuarial services via trusted partners.

Sovereign prides itself on the stability of its workforce which is a major consideration for new clients.
With regard to training, Sovereign is proud of the in-house training given to all staff. We do not have the need to operate within a dedicated training structure. We however centre the technical training around the senior members of staff who provide an informal teach-in after they have attended external (NAPF, PMI etc) seminars.

This training is monitored on a regular basis, including during regular annual appraisals to ensure that all members of staff have sufficient knowledge and understanding of our procedures to ensure that work is completed accurately and on a timely basis.

External training is provided, where appropriate, by specialist training companies to ensure that the latest developments in our software are available to our administrators, and therefore to our clients.

The training needs of our administrators is currently reviewed and updated as required.
